Veniamin Kondratyev met the german delegation arrived to Kuban

The regional government officials discussed prospects of economic cooperation between Krasnodar region and Lower Saxony with the politicians and businesspersons fr om Germany.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Governor of Kuban noted that Germany was among the countries intensively investing into the regions economy. Over the last three years, the mutual turnover made over 740 million dollars US, of which import accounts for more than 90%.

 However, the region is not only interested in purchasing goods from Germany but also in producing them here, in this place  within the framework of developing mutual technologies. Thus we are creating most comfortable conditions for investors, - underscored Veniamin Kondratyev.

To illustrate this point, the Head of the region made a reference to the conclusion of a special investment contract, the first of its kind in Russia. This includes an agreement made with the German company "KLAAS" stipulating localization of the agricultural machinery production across the territory of Krasnodar region, as reported by the Press-Service of the administration of Krasnodar region.

The speaker of Kuban Parliament, Vladimir Beketov, emphasized that the promotion of economic ties has a positive impact on the political relationships of the regions.

- We acknowledge that the business is most successfully developing wh ere there is a concept of mutually beneficial cooperation at place. And we are willing to converse with each individual investor and discuss every single project, - added Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the region.

In turn, the Minister of Economy, labor and transport of Lower Saxony, Olaf Lies, noted that solid economic relationships link Russia and Germany together.

- This indicates, primarily, mutual trust. Both Krasnodar region and Lower Saxony are agrarian lands, and we could have only benefited from our joint efforts, - assured Olaf Lies.

As emphasized by the representatives from both parties, except for the projects in agro-industrial complex, of particular importance is cooperation in such areas as: oil & gas power engineering, manufacturing of road-building machinery and equipment, pharmaceutical industry and medical equipment manufacturing and manufacturing of high-tech equipment for food industry.

According to the Vice-Governor, Sergey Altukhov, Krasnodar region is also interested in joint projects in the area of developing wind power stations and balneotherapy.

 Those are the niches that are still vacant today. Kuban is actively looking for the investors to develop these sectors, including amongst the German business community, - summarized Veniamin Kondratyev.

Prior to the meeting with the regions executives, the delegation from Lower Saxony visited an agricultural machine-building plant "KLAAS" in Krasnodar. The schedule of the German business mission also includes meetings with the representatives of the Association "Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Krasnodar region" and representatives of Krasnodar business community.
