French investors plan to develop projects in energy and agricultural areas in Kuban
Sergey Altukhov, Vice-Governor, and representatives of the French delegation of the region Languedoc-Roussillon-Midi-Pyrйnйes discussed the prospects for collaboration in the course of the official meeting.
The delegation that arrived to Kuban incorporated: Dominique Shemla, Metropolitan Vice-President on economy of Perpignan-Mediterranean, Andre Joffre, President of the zone of advanced economic growth "DERBI" and Ellen Biy-Beabeau, Deputy Head of the Agency for economic development "Pyrenees-Mediterranean Invest".
In the negotiations Krasnodar region was represented by Oleg Zharko, Chairman of the Southern regional committee of the European Business Association, Roman Kurinny, General Director of Development Corporation of Krasnodar region, and representatives of industry-specific ministries and agencies of the region as well as RF Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Krasnodar.
The French guests arrived to the region by invitation of the senior management of Krasnodar region, having taken interest in Kuban investment projects which were presented in April this year in Paris, in the Russian Embassy in France within the framework of presentation of the country regions. And in the course of the meeting in Krasnodar the parties discussed the details of the projects on utilization of alternative energy sources, construction of logistics centers, development of wine-growing and viniculture, establishment of pharmaceutical production lines and therapeutic resort & treatment facilities.

We are willing to discuss the plans on the construction of enterprises, operating in the industries correlating to the economy of the region Languedoc-Roussillon-Midi-Pyrenees, in the region Sergey Altukhov approached the foreign partners with such words, having emphasized that the favorable climatic conditions of Krasnodar region, comfort business environment and intensive public support enable to set up successful enterprises within the optimum timeline.
The deputy head of the region reported that the sites were assigned for the construction of electric power plants operating on the alternative energy sources, in Yeysk and Temryuk districts, on the coast of Azov and Black seas. The establishment of such enterprises will enable to localize the production of the equipment for power plants, the fact that will contribute to the reduction of the cost price of the generated power and to significant cost savings for the enterprises.
In exchange, Dominique Shemla, Metropolitan Vice-President on economy of Perpignan-Mediterranean, assured that the French party intends to develop projects on utilization of the alternative energy sources in Krasnodar region. The representatives of the French delegation are willing to discuss cooperation in this area and present their developments which have already been implemented. Thus, the largest wind energy park on the south of France on the coast in the vicinity of Pyrenees generates around 100 MW and service 120 thousand residents.
Moreover, the French delegation reps plan to implement the projects on the establishment of wholesale & distribution centers for locally manufactured food products, development of wine-growing and viniculture and also get the cooperation of enterprises from both territories up and running. Over their time of stay in the region the foreign guests familiarized themselves with the infrastructure and enterprises of the cities of Anapa and Novorossiysk. In particular, they recognized high level of logistics arranged on the territory of Novorossiysk cargo port and highly appraised the quality of "Abrau-Durso" products.
The participants of the meeting have agreed to align the professional engagement and interaction between the enterprises of France and Krasnodar region interested in cooperation, inter alia, in implementation of the investment projects. The foreign guests brought a list of such companies to the negotiations. Eventually, it was decided to organize a meeting between the representatives of Kuban and French business community on the territory of Krasnodar region in the near term.
