IKEA will continue to develop “Mega-Adygeya-Kuban”
IKEA Centers Russia commenced to modernize the «Mega-Adygeya-Kuban» shopping center.
«Mega-Adygeya-Kuban» was opened in the territory of the Republic of Adygeya in 2008. Investments in the project amounted to about 5 billion rubles.
The area of the shopping center is 111.8 thousand square meters; 4 thousand people are employed there. Since opening, the number of visits has reached 119 million; residents and visitors of the region visit «Mega» about 13 million times on average during a year.
Within the implementation of the project, the total investment will amount to 14 billion rubles, and 80 thousand square meters of shopping galleries will be constructed (in addition to the already existing 111.8 thousand square meters). The first stage has been reconstructed and a large park has been created in the territory of 22 hectares, with walking and recreational areas and two artificial ponds.
As a result, it is expected that the annual number of visits will increase by at least 25%, the number of tenants will increase by 60%, and about 2 thousand new jobs will appear.
The IKEA Group of Companies is one of the worlds largest retail chains for furniture and household goods. Currently, there are 14 «Mega» shopping centers in 11 regions of Russia. The total retail area of the company is 2 million square meters.
